Team grants cover kits, FIRST registration, tools, gear, and the other costs that stop teams from starting — or from doing their best work. Apply below.
One short application. No budget spreadsheets, no narrative essays, no school board approval needed to apply.
If your request is outside our usual categories, we'll talk it through with you — not reject it by form letter.
We reply quickly. Most team grants are funded in full or in part — and you'll always know where you stand.
Honest expectations, so you know before you apply. Typical grant is $150–$300, with room to negotiate for more. If your need isn't a clean fit but feels close, apply anyway and tell us — we'll figure it out together.
Need something else? Check “Other” in the form and explain — we read every one.
Fill in what you can. The more specific you are about what the team needs and why, the faster we can get back to you with a real answer.
Grants are capped at $500 per team. We reply personally to every application — usually within a week or two, sometimes longer when we're stretched. If you haven't heard from us in 3 weeks, ping us.
Who should apply: head coaches, team leads, parent-volunteers organizing a team, or principals/teachers launching a new team. Any FIRST program in Loudoun County — FLL Discover / Explore / Challenge, FTC, or FRC. VEX teams welcome too. If you're a family asking about individual costs, reach out via our contact form — we handle those separately.
Teams need the runway to launch and stay running — the adults to organize, the kit to build, the registration to compete. Team grants close the distance between what families can chip in and what a season actually costs.
We're a parent-led nonprofit — we're not going to bury you in paperwork. Tell us what you need, we'll tell you what we can do, and we'll keep the conversation going season after season.
